First 1) has been tried by someone, see this page: http://www.reactos.org/mlsearch/show.php?id=%[email protected]%3E 2)I think it is useful for Linux Mobile Phone just as Wine for Linux Desktop, but maybe too difficult to emulator enough Symbian OS API, but there is a related project called GNUPOC which makes it possible to develop EPOC applications on your GNU/Linux machine.
