First of all a huge thanks to all the developers who make Familiar, Opie, and 
GPE possible. I've been using Familiar and Opie on my IPAQ for the past two 
years, and couldn't imagine life without it. I certainly can't imagine ever 
wanting to put Windows back on it ;-)

And now for a question. Is anyone one else having problems getting an Orinoco 
wireless card to work with the new Release Candidate?

I use an IPAQ 3850, PCMCIA expansion sleeve,  and a Cabletron Roamabout, 
(rebadged Orinoco Gold) with Familiar and Opie. I performed a clean install 
of the new Familiar v0.8.4-rc3 with Opie. Installation was hassle free as 
usual, as was entering the settings for the wireless card. However, with the 
settings entered I attempted to restart the interface using the GUI. The 
system returned an error message stating that the card could not be stopped 
and I remained unable to connect to the network. I have tried rebooting the 
IPAQ a number of times to see if the card would magically "just work". I have 
also tried a couple of fresh installs just in case something went wrong the 
first time. I still can't get the card to operate correctly.

I've checked the files in /etc/ and the settings are definitely being retained 
correctly. Is anyone esle having a similar issue? Has something been changed 
between rc2 and rc3? Perhaps we are having issues with the Orinoco driver 
again? I remember this happening a few releases ago.

Just to be absolutely clear, the card worked flawlessly on every release from 
rc2 back. If I reinstall rc2 or 0.8.2 everything works as expected.

Any help or input would be appreciated while I try to get to the bottom of 
things here.
