Kontact and iPAQ 3970 sync

I've been trying to get my iPAQ 3970 sync'ing with kontact in Mandriva 2007
and so far have had little success. I'm trying to use multisync configured
with the Qtopia konector (also for Opie) and a simple local konector. The
config on the computer side is:

On the pair editor screen:

Sync Plugins:
First: Qtopia Konnector
Second: Local Konnector
Display Name: iPAQ

OPTIONS
Qtopia Konnector:
Name: iPAQ
Distribution: Opie and Qtopia 1.6
User: root
Pass: <my pass>
Destination address: 192.168.68.7

Local Konnector:
Name: Sexy (my workstation)
Calendar file: <my calendar file>
Addressbook File: <my address book file>

On my iPAQ I have:
Under the Settings tab --> Security --> Sync:
Accept sync from network: 192.168.68.0/24
Select Your Sync Software:
Opie 1.0 (although I'm running opie 1.2.1)


For my connections I have the iPAQ connected over USB.

pings from both sides work as does ssh connection:

(the connection TO the iPAQ takes a little longer)

Anyway ... it seems as though I have a decent network connection but I just
can't sync the two. The log from Kontact (multisync) shows this:

And that's all I get ... nothing shows up on the iPAQ in logs at all that I
can find. Does anyone have any experience with this or do they have any ideas
on what I might need to do to get it working? ... possibly even a way to get
better debugging other than "Error during connect"?
