Excuse me, it is YOU (as in GF and handhelds.org) whom are upsetting the
most folks here! I am just the one being vocal about it, because I have
spent 5 years of my life promoting and working in the project.

What makes you think you have the right to steal Ben's free and open
source project name? hh.org is a frickin HOSTING service. You do NOT own
OPIE! Who gave you the right to the name Opie?

YOU (and whatever lawyer(s) decided they needed to trademark names they
have no right to) are the one who is doing all this to us and your
community. I am merely speaking up.

you (hh.org & you) don't rightfully own the trademark, and it is not yet
registered, nor even reviewed.

You were going to give the trademark to its rightful owner until I spoke
up about the injustices.. good one. Time to fire your lawyers.

ever hear of xemacs and emacs? wow two similiar open source projects
with similiar project names... whoda thunkit?

There are 204 trademarks with Linux in their names, several are of the
software field, and actually use the word "Linux".

Oh, and I suppose you don't know about the other Opie software, hey??
The one that was in existence before the opie project at hh.org?

oh and this one too!

and you are being being constructive or collaborative? who reviews YOUR
conduct? "Be respectful." You even tried to claim irc channels as
belonging to hh.org!

I (and many others that I am speaking in behalf for) believe you have
unjustly and wrongly stolen the name of projects that hh.org only hosts!
It goes against the spirit of open source, and it disgusts me.
Especially after 5 years of promoting handhelds.org and defending it and
opie.

You are not a part of the Opie project. Never were. Never contributed to
it, aside from hosting it at the handhelds.org website. You probably
have never even used it.

This whole thing has really saddened and disheartened me. It's really
rather pathetic.

You have a long road ahead of you defending your "trademarks" as there
are thousands of instances of "ipkg" and others... but hey, your
attorneys need to eat too.
