OT Palm TX digitizer issues

Hi all. I've read with the 'E2 Sqweeling' post was a simple battery replacement fix. But, what's to do about a digitiser with a very pronounced lack of sensitivity on the upper left quadrant of the screen? I've re-calibrated and Hard Reset this thing more times than I care to count and the digitiser issues continue. Mind you, I'm not very mechanical or co-ordinated with my manual dexterity so. obviously, I'm not a mechanical genius. Further, I''ve had a spare, New In Box/Never Opened TX sitting on my shelf for the last 18 months. With that one, although it's been sitting for so long, could there be battery leakage issues? If so, how can I tell without opening the TX itself? Remember, I'm no mechanic. That's why I'd never open either TX up. And, if so, is this spare TX fixable?
