Another issue is that only a small percentage of the owners of iPhones (or any device) would be willing to "jailbreak" their device. It is not just the initial process -- after that Apple will not support it, you will not be able to update it (or more properly, updating will become very complicated), etc. For most people it is at the least not worth the effort. So the market for such a version of Pimlical would only be a fraction of the total iPhone market. For instance, I would not be interested in buying an iPhone or iPod Touch to jailbreak it to run Pimlical. Which means I wouldn't buy an iPhone at all. And a JB phone is not sufficient in itself. While 90% of the Pimlical (not DateBk6) is platform independent, the user interface must be customized for each platform, as well as the database (Pimlical uses MS Access database on Windows; it would need a different database on each platform). So the only way you could get Pimlical for a jailbroken iPhone would be for CESD to write a version for the Java runtime available for JB iPhones. If he did that he could sell it through the Cydia store (http://cydia.saurik.com/) or other venues.
