I agree with you!!!!
Using an iPhone 4 since almost a year I found in the moment "Week Cal" is the best for me.
Since Apple opened the API to developers there are a lot of calendar apps in the appShop.
Week Cal is not DateBk but it improves very fast, syncs with mobileMe (besides gooogleCal&Co) and on this way with my iMac instantly over the "cloud"
Still no toDos but I think this will come - in the moment I use an extra app for this ("2Do") which syns with mobileMe too.

I think the train is running already fast and jumping on it will be more and more difficult!!!! Hurry on CESD!
