Change Repeat Interval Creates Copy: Is this a Bug

Greetings,
 
I have been meaning to post this for a long time.  I often have to rearange my schedule and change the repeat interval of recurring events.  If I make a change to the repeat interval, the result is a new appointment with the new interval, but the old appointment remains on my Palm TX.  If I remove the repeat and save the appointment first, then input a new repeat schedule everything is okay, but in my haste and old age I often forget to do that.
