Re: Where is DateBk these days?

I am aware of the history, but haven't things changed so that the tricks can now be used?  Or not needed anymore?  Pocket Informant has a very customized calendar, and there are others available.  Maybe Apple doesn't allow other apps to put codes in calendar entry notes?  Well then isn't iOS and the underlying framework robust enough that Datebk could be implemented differently?  I do understand focusing on Java, because it's cross platform, but in my early looks at the desktop version of Pimlical there seemed to be no effort to make use of the Java cross-platform capability to easily run Pimlical on a Mac.  If developing in Java, wouldn't that be a goal?  I had to run it in a virtual machine, which on an early MacBook Air took too much space on the SSD.

The positive thing is that CESD created something so good, on an early device, that still (imo) hasn't been matched.  The unfortunate thing is that Pimlico never capitalized on it when things shifted -- it could be running on millions of iOS devices now even if the operation had to change from being a one-man operation.

I don't know why Pocket Informant and other apps haven't added the features of Datebk -- floating events, advances, etc.  Week Cal does have a version of floating event, but no task integration.  Pocket informant doesn't have floating events.

Although I am iOS-based with my iPhone and iPad Air, I do have a Nexus 7 2013 as my small device rather than an iPad Mini Retina, so I would love to be able to get the Android version on that device, but when I search for it on Google Play it doesn't show up -- either it's not there or not compatible with what's generally considered to be the highest reviewed small Android device currently out.
