All I can tell you is this:
1. If you have a 64-bit version of windows, you must use the Aceeca drivers
in order to sync via USB:
http://aceeca.com/index.php?option=com_maqmahelpdesk
<http://aceeca.com/index.php?option=com_maqmahelpdesk&Itemid=5&id_workgroup=
1&task=downloads_category&id=8>
&Itemid=5&id_workgroup=1&task=downloads_category&id=8
2. If you are syncing a legacy device (meaning it has the traditional Palm
OS databases like datebook, address... as opposed to the newer, proprietary
PalmOne databases with the names Calendar..., Contacts... then you must
either use PalmHotSyncSetup.exe or Pimlical/Desktop to switch the windows
registry around so that Palm's hotsync routine recognizes the correct
database names. To the best of my knowledge, both the M105 and the M500 are
legacy devices.
3. I know of no one who has been unable to get Palm/Desktop and
Pimlical/Desktop up and running on Windows because of some Technical problem
that could not be resolved.
4. Windows8 is a question mark as a I have conflicting information as to
whether or not the Palm Desktop runs on that platform AND can sync to a Palm
handheld, some say yes, some say no - I don't have Win8 running anywhere
here at this time.
5. There is no reason why you should not be able to beam over all your data
and apps from the M105 to the m-500 as long as both devices have functioning
IR hardware.
Cheers!
