Subject: [GtD_Palm] Re: Replacement for Handspring Visor Pro

I too prefer Graffiti and still have my old Visor Pro, though I've used a TX for the last 4 years. In my case, I do not want to combine my cell phone and PDA. Smartphones aren't my gig at all.

There are several ways to get G1 back on a newer Palm OS device but the dirty little secret is that G2 recognizes 80-90% of G1 strokes (including some that do not at all match the G2 chart). The rest weren't a big deal for me to learn. In short: I like G1 better but G2 is no big deal.

I have 3 TXs (2 are back-ups) and have never had any of the screen and alignment drift issues that I've read about. I broke my screen two years ago (my fault), I ordered and installed a replacement and it has worked fine.

So if you like the other features of the TX, go for it.

Best of luck, let us know what you decide.
