We switched to AT&T a few months ago and I thought I would switch from my TX to a smartphone. The centro was the only palm phone offered for AT&T (except for a treo without something or other I'm not sure I understand).

I was concerned about the small screen and keyboard. My son picked a Blackberry Pearl at the same time. Thought the Centro screen is smaller, it is more condensed and displays the same number of characthers as the Pearl. What I type into one comes out exactly the same on the screen as is displayed when I type the same thing into the other.

My son tested the keyboard at the store (I was not there) and said it seemd OK. It seems to work fine for me - I just use my fingertip (or nails). After getting used to the keyboard, I tried out the Pearl keyboard and think I prefer the Centro - the keys are closer together and easier to access. I still prefer 10 finger typing, but I am as fast at the Centro keyboard as I ever was at Grafitti (or Fiatly or MessagEase).

I do not remember what a T5 looks like, but the Centro does fine.
