Hi, Brenda, two suggestions:

1)
I run Desktop version 4.1.4 on my Vista computer, so it shows Note Pad with
no problem.

For Vista, I had to set the shortcut to run it in XP compatibiliy mode and
in administrator mode.

If you need to run it and also have the latest Desktop, try installing it to
another program directory -- and maybe even pointing it at a different data
directory where you have copied the necessary NotePad files. (You could use
a virtual machine, as well, especially since you could just copy files into
it instead of interfacing directly with your pda.)

2)

Another approach is to install the Palm OS emulator "pose", using its
supplied program to get a copy of your pda's rom into the emulator. Then
you have what looks like your palm running on your Windows. Then use the
emulator's context menu and import the NotePad's pdb, and run NotePad in the
emulator. It should work.

Best of Luck,
Tom
