I followed much the same path. The Palm was a great device. They provided 2
very straight-forward ways to sync-Outlook and the Palm Desktop. I have used
a BlackBerry for the last 6 years and love it. As you said, Outlook syncs
beautifully with it.

 

There is a program called gSyncit ($20) by Fieldston Software that syncs all
parts of Outlook. It will also sync Tasks with ToodleDo (which is much
better than Google Tasks). ToodleDo is free. On Toodledo's website you will
see programs for the handheld that will sync ToodleDo to the handheld. I
guess we are really saying the same thing.several hoops to jump through if
you want to sync with an Android.

 

As for Apple, my blog post from a couple of days ago is all about that
encounter (http://frankbuck.blogspot.com/2012/02/whats-outlook.html).

 

I am hoping RIM will get things together. For those who are more interested
in using the Smartphone to increase productivity instead of play games, the
BlackBerry is a great device. I know there aren't 450,000 apps for it, but
then again, just how many do you need. Give me Vlingo, Poynt, Dropbox,
BlackBerry Travel, Ubersocial, and I am good to go. Being able to sync all
modules of Outlook with the BlackBerry gives me an amazing amount of data.

 

Please continue to post your experiences with syncing your device of choice
with Outlook. It's too bad not more people truly understand how good Outlook
is.
