The message means the file is not actually a BMP file at all. It's some other format. The full message says "The file is not a proper BMP format file. Maybe HotSync converted it to a JPEG file. For help importing BMP files, look in the 'Readme.htm' file that comes with Icon Manager." Did you find the section in the Readme.htm file that suggests what to try instead? The message mentions HotSync because a few years ago that was the only thing that could convert image files. In the years since then it's entirely possible that other things now convert image files, too. For example, maybe Card Export II converted it to a JPEG file. Or maybe something else did. ----- Original Message ----- From: boneandshadow To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, May 14, 2007 7:44 PM Subject: [IconMgr] Icon from .bmp On my last PDA, a Sony Clie, I made LOTS of icons with no problems; on my current PDA (Palm Tungsten T5), however, I've had no luck. I have tried transferring correctly-sized .bmp's via "Drive Mode" and "Card Export II". I put them in the correct directory on the memory card. And every time, when I try to "import from .bmp" I get the error message that the file "is not a proper BMP format file. Maybe HotSync converted it to a JPEG." Which would be ok, if I had used HotSync. Which I didn't. Ever. Does anyone know what I am missing here? ~Ryan [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
