Thanks for this tip - I tried that, and it seems to have told me that VersaMail is {the|one of the} cuprit(s). One thing of note, however, is that it seems SafeGuard is happier on a Treo than a TX - the system throws non fatal (0x0505) System Errors, which the Palm OS docs tell me are SystemManager errors. I suspect it runs into trouble trying to call functions for the non-existant phone. I also can't get to the main menu. That said, for the trial version, it was worth the effort. >> = Preferences have been reloaded backup reinstalled (maybe reinstalled >> corrupted prefs that caused it?) > > Very likely. Yes - it seems that doing a complete restore has been part of the problem, so I am being a little more organized about restoring, rather that a shotgun method. NVBackup seems to work a treat though - pretty nifty; I'd been living with jpilot and pilot-xfer, but it's nice to have something that will restore in the field (or bush!) > Also,Steve's suggestion that the cause might be the keyboard > driver is a good possibility, although you said, I think, that the > same driver was ok before. Yeah, we'll see how that pans out. I believe Paul (or others) here have successfully run the TX w/Univ. Wireless Keyboard for lengthy periods of time, no?
