I found it quirky but useful.  I used Outlook at home as well as at
the office, for compatibility, and because I needed better mail
handling capabilities than things like Outlook Express offered.  (I
got, and still get, a lot of email, and needed filtering more
sophistacted than IF <condition> DO <action> to properly classify it.)
Outlook at the office was used for the shared calendar as well as
email, and we lived in it at employers.

I made it a reflex to add anyone I was likely to communicate with
*again* to my Outlook Contacts folder, and that got hot-synced to teh
PDA as the basis for the Address Book.  I hot-synced in both
locations, so any entry added in one place got added to teh other next
hot-sync, and I had redundancy because my contacts list resided in
three different locations.

The Life Drive was an interesting idea.  I knew a couple of folks back
in the day who replaced the hard drive with a CF card and were
delighted with the increased performance and reliability.  (Things
with moving parts break, so replacing a spinning platter drive wish a
flash memory based card was a win.)

<grin>  One of my involvements is eBooks, and I know folks who
deliberately bought dedicated eBook readers precisely to remove the
temptation of doing other things while they were reading.

That wouldn't work for me - the dedicated devices were eInk with
monochrome screens, and too much of what I do requires color.  My
default eBook viewer device is a 7" Android tablet, with a library on
a microSD card.

But I began reading eBooks on Palm devices, using the open source
Plucker app that could convert HTML pages to a form viewable on the
PDA.  The initial use was converting documentation I used  as a
sysadmin to a form I could carry around in my pocket, and a lot of
stuff from Project Gutenberg and elsewhere joined it.  I also
collected an assortment of stuff in Mobipoket format I could read
using Mobi's Palm viewer app. (Palm was the first platform Mobipocket
targeted when they began as an early eBook publisher. Amazon bought
them years back and used the Mobi format for their Kindle offerings)

What other sorts of things have you bought on eBay?
