This may be outside the scope of your course but, if you mark up the
document as XML or SGML, then it is possible to use the same manual, with
clever processing, for paper, HTML, and most any other delivery medium you
want.
It requires careful planning to really make it work across diverse mediums
but for simple variations in presentation (HTML vs windows help vs paper) it
is reasonably simple.
Sun does this with their documentation. IBM also but not consistently across
products. Caterpillar is quite good at it.
