Yes, I intend to do further development, but I also intend to rewrite
Progect to make it more extensible. That will not happen quickly though,
I would suggest a year and a half into the future.

Of the three pieces that make up what Progect is (Progect, the conduit,
PDesk) Progect basically works for most people, and therefore rewriting it
is not my top priority.

[I also have someone who is looking at making improvements to Progect,
perhaps in a week or two.]

The current conduit causes too many problems (basically destruction of
data), it needs to be fixed or replaced. By replacing it with an XML
conduit, people will not have their data locked in to Progect or PDesk.
They can use whatever program they want to edit their data. There are a
lot of good hierarchical editors available to people, and while none of
them seem to be a direct replacement for PDesk, most people should be well
served by using them. It may be that they need to use two purpose built
outliners (Project Management/Text Outlining), but that is better than
losing their data.

Because of this, replacing the current conduit is the most important task
right now in my opinion, and all other things need to wait until it is
done.

I also intend to rewrite PDesk, and I have a project on SourceForge that
is my intended replacement, it is called "Outliner Framework". It is not
ready for people to use yet however.

I can't really comment on this yet, because I have to focus on other
things. Certainly anything useful will be added if possible. But perhaps
not quickly.

My intended PDesk replacement will have full Unicode support, the only
issue might be what will work with Progect on the Palm.

Once we have the XML conduit working, you should be able to choose a
desktop outliner program with Unicode support in the meantime.

I am certainly committed to keeping the Progect project going, but I have
limited time, and I feel that the approach I am taking will benefit the
most people in the shortest period of time.

If someone disagrees with me, feel free to tell me so, either on this list
or via a personal email, I guarantee I will listen.
