Hi, Particularly if the format is XML, it should be relatively easy to support. However, have you noticed that TreePad has something in it's utilities section about Progect: http://www.treepad.com/conversion_utilities/ If the treepad format is not XML, but somewhat textual, it shouldn't be that bad. A pure binary format may have to wait a bit, Python can handle binary formats, but I need to get the XML stuff going right now. I should have something available for general consumption as an Alpha (IE an EXE for windows and packages and so on) available soon. I have a conversion going from Progect to GanttProject going right now, and will do the conversion the other way perhaps tomorrow. It's a bit rickety, but I want to find any obvious problems with my approach before I polish it too much. Once I have the basics working, I will figure out the packaging and release an Alpha. However, it won't be much use to people unless they use GanttProject or can write XSLT (in which case they can use the raw XML and convert it - anyone who does that, please send me the XSLT transforms). Next after that, I will compile the list of applications that we will try to support and whomever has volunteered to test, and start writing the XSLT transformations, probably for the platforms with the most help first. Off the top of my head, that would probably be OmniOutliner. Once I relearn how to do XSLT again, it should go fairly quickly, at least for minimal conversions. My intention is to try fairly broad but limited support and then once we have things working, start improving the round trip, so that as few inconveniences happen as possible. For the technical people, I intend to create an *attic* in the Progect database both at a project and a record level to store things that Progect does not understand, but that the source application needs. Once that is working, the round trip experience should be vastly improved. Luckily, I don't think we will need to change our file format to achieve that. Again for technical people, all the source code is on SourceForge under Python PalmDB, there is a script in the module called PDBConvert.py, that is the program that will convert files. The source code is updated in some cases hourly. Things could still change drastically, but if someone out there who knows XSLT wants to try and support one of the platforms, I can give them some sample XML. All I would need is an XSLT file that has the transforms from the platform to Progect, and a file that goes from Progect to that platform. I can put the XSLT code into the Python plugin easily enough. Finally, once the command line works nicely, I will start to worry about how to interface it with a conduit. I'm working hard at it, but I would still expect it to be about 6 months before we have something that a non computer person would like using.
