Which server is polled?

I have 3 news servers set up.
I subscribe to a group using server 1.
I use the button to do a poll. This polls all 3 servers.

THIS IS BAD. I must be doing something wrong.
It is bad because a set of articles on server 3 has numbers in 6 or 7
digits. The articles on server 1 are 5 digit numbers for article number.

This means that when I poll and have polled previously on the server with
low numbers that I will try to poll millions of articles because the next to
poll is set to a low number.

That is what happened to me. It is probably ok after you finally get through
it all (but you never will ) because now the next to poll number is set to
the higher number. IFF the server with high numbers is polled last. If it is
polled first then the next to poll will be a low number again the next time
you do a global poll.

It is acting as though the next to poll is not maintained as a separate
variable for every server for every group but is rather a global number with
only one number for each group, regardless of server. That should be changed
or there should be a way to poll only the server defined for a group. I know
you could turn off poll in the definition of the server but then you would
miss polling some servers that you have to poll because all articles and all
groups are not on all servers.

MAYBE I AM MISSING SOME SETTINGS? If I can be certain that only one server
is polled for each subscribed newsgroup I would be ok. I still think
separate numbers should be kept for every group and every server to prevent
accidentally getting into this mess.
