RE: Bootloader problems after serload

Thanks for the reply. I have been using the normal bootloader (loader_bl) but to no avail.  Just so there is no confusion let me tell you exactly what I'm doing.

1.	First of all I switch the Simpad off by activating the microswitch (S2) next to the test header (J4) on the back of the unit.

2.	I then short pins 1 & 2 on the test header whilst turning on the unit.  The following output is obtained from the serial port using Hyperterminal:

3.	I then disconnect Hyperterminal and load a DOS box and run SERLOAD LOADER_BL (I have tried both v2.4 & v2.5.3 with exactly the same results) and press the reset button on the back and obtain the following output:

4.	This output continually repeats and the screen of the SIMpad continually flashes the booting pattern.

There are a couple of points to note:

At the end of the Serload process and the screen displays

the system immediately reboots without me touching anything. I seem to remember that before I started having all these problems and I performed a Serload of loader_bl it ended with the lines

Firmware Update Successfully Finished
Press Button to restart

This is not the case at the moment.


When it does reboot it uses the Alternative bootloader at address 0x01f00014.

Could the problem be that the Serload process isn't actually writing the loader_bl image to memory correctly and therefore the system reboots using the alternative one?

If this is the case, how do I get the normal bootloader to be saved correctly?
