Sounds like you would need to add display and keyboard handling to the
simpad variant of bootldr, e.g. like on the iPAQs.

BTW., is it planned to submit the SIMpad changes upstream?

Then again, it might not be worth it since bootldr is pretty much end of
line. Nowadays most development seems to go into LAB.
