Ok so for example finding out ( when not looking at the src ) where UART3 is mapped to and use it as console. YOu've to recompile and reflash the kernel just because of one digit substitution? Now normally you run a kernel but then want to attach a console to it? Ah simply recompile and flash? Sorry my hardware is fucking old and compiling takes ages and serial uploading is not what I consider fast. > > > Third Don't change the Kernel to work with a 'wrong' bootldr not setting > > the device in r[0,1] > > OK, sounds reasonable :) > > > Fourth Having future versions of linux running on the SIMpad > > I can't see why not :-) Or is it (3) simply repeated? :-) No future versions of ARMLinux might only support TAG list for configs. Sure you can patch around a bootldr you can't control. > > > Fith Ease of development > Support of booting off CF Card, Multiple Boots, Boot of the jffs2 partition ( only copy the image to the disk )... But anyway we don't force to use a particular bootldr for now so its all about choiche. regards holger -- _____________________________________________ Holger 'zecke' Freyther developer Project OPIE- the Open Palmtop Integrated Environment http://opie.handhelds.org | http://www.opie.info (german) IRC: irc.freenode.net #opie #opie.de ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
