I don't think any button should be bound by the kernel (besides resume
through the power button). I'd rather see this happening through the
qte keyboard driver or even better through OSIMpad which is the Opie
SIMpad device abstraction class.

Please contact [email protected] for helping on kernel 2.6 for SIMpad
because he already has it working on his SIMpad. I'd like to see an
updated patch against an current 2.6.x-rmk and then the integration of
that kernel into the OpenEmbedded build system.

Maybe having a kernel 2.6 would motivate me and others to start working
on OpenSIMpad again...
