Marc Merlin has written a good rebuttal to the page you listed at http://marc.merlins.org/netrants/listreplyto.txt I agree that the purpose of mailing lists is to facilitate communication among a community. As I see it, reply-to going to the list has several drawbacks as outlined in that URL. The debate will probably forever live on...
