I'm trying to establish a connection between a SL-5000d and a RedHat 7.3 box. FIrst let me say that I don't know what ROM version I have. The System Info -> Version page does not have a ROM version line as the rom_upgrade_howto.shtml describes. How can I get the ROM version? I've gone through linux_ethernet-over-usb-howto.shtml and installed the usbdnet module. When I put the Zaurus on the crade the kernel reports the following in /var/log/messages: Oct 20 01:04:32 localhost kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 4 Oct 20 01:04:32 localhost kernel: usb.c: ignoring set_interface for dev 4, iface 0, alt 0 Oct 20 01:04:32 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: invoke ifup usb0 Oct 20 01:04:35 localhost /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup usbdnet usbdnet CDCEther acm CDCEther for USB product 4dd/8004/0 I type the following as per the howto: > /sbin/ifconfig usb0 192.168.1.200 netmask 255.255.255.255 up > /sbin/route add -host 192.168.1.201 usb0 When I try to ping the Zaurus I get 'Destination Host Unreachable' and messages from usb-uhci in /var/log/messages like this: Oct 20 01:08:01 localhost kernel: usb-uhci.c: process_transfer: fixed toggle Oct 20 01:11:46 localhost last message repeated 7 times Oct 20 01:33:50 localhost last message repeated 9 times -Karl ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: Access Your PC Securely with GoToMyPC.
