That's a good idea, for a runtime check (which was what Konrad needed).
How about a compile-time check -- a compiler flag that gets set,
or a way to get tmake and qmake to pass a -D define? 

Any recommendations on how to setup .pro makefiles for a project
that can run either as a Qt desktop app or a Qtopia Zaurus app?
I haven't found any way that works in both tmake and qmake, so I've been
resorting to complicated fiddling in a regular Makefile one level up
from where my Qt stuff is built.  But surely there's a better way to
pass defines and check platform information from within tmake/qmake?
