Still having trouble getting my new SL-5600 to see my LAN or the Internet via the cradle. I find this strange since the SL-5500 did this virtually automatically. I am innocent of all the esoterica concerning Linux (one semester on-line) or the Zaurus. So this machine's particulars are: Embedix Plus PSA Version: 2.0 Qtopia for Embedix Plus PDA Version: 1.5.4 Linux Kernel Version: 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix Compiled by: Sharp ROM Version: 1.00 V The LAN is a Linksys BEFSR41 (wired) router connected to a cablemodem. This router automatically "finds" any connected machines by their MACs and then assigns IPs to them. Under Windoze anything, setup is simple: do nothing other than ensuring the interface card is seen by the system and has TCP/IP attached to it. What must I do to get the Z to recognize the router (and vice-versa) via Win98SE? via WinXPPro? Both machines correctly identify the Zaurus and install its adapter (SL series Ver3 (NDIS5)). I've tried all manner of things to get the Z to "open up" to these systems with no success. FWIW, XP Pro doesn't "see" the Z any better than Win98SE. Please keep it simple and in plain English.. I'm o.k. at following directions but really lousy at understanding technobabble. Perhaps it's selective dyslexia!
