Article: "Linux and the Asian PDA markets"

Noticed over at LinuxInsider.com:

I'm only just starting to read it, and it's good to see what looks like some
good and interesting news about Zaurus being successfully deployed places,
but I don't get this comment near the top:

  "No one doubts the Linux upstarts face an uphill battle. For one, Palm and
  Pocket PC offer a wider range of software. Moreover, most Linux PDAs lack
  the ability to synchronize with Windows and Mac OS."


Uh...  I realize Windows syncing can be difficult at times, but I thought
this is no longer an issue.  (Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I thought it
often boiled down to firewall or USB settings in various versions of Windows.)

Also, while apparently the new Qtopia Desktop for Mac only talks to older
ROMs, it DOES work, right? :)



Of course, this is coming from a site that writes this at the top of
another article:

  "Microsoft and Sun are afraid of open source."

... which I read only MINUTES after reading a big long review of Sun's
work on Gnome desktop!!!
