I've had a 1GB IBM microdrive for about 8 months. I've had no technical
problems with it, but it does rattle disconcertingly. It also sucks down
quite a bit of power. If I had it to do over again I would have probably
waited and gone with a big solid-state CF card or several smaller ones.
Seek times can be a bear on most ROMS as well (other than the newer 3.1
derived ROMS).
