Thanks Jim and Dave. I don't use winxp's proxy but ZoneAlarm. I
thought it could be that too but deactivating it made no difference. I
only get problems with checking my emails though, so it could be the
issue with SOHO that Jim mentioned. I'll try with analogX. In fact I
tried it before but it was conflicting with SpamAssassin, which I don't
use it anymore. I'd rather use IMAP though, as I've got many folders
and filters setup on the server.
