On Monday, January 29, 2007 Thus spake Patrick Horne >What are some of the better software tools for practising one's typing with >Dvorak? I found most software tools to be unhelpful, but practicing single words or sentences, from any source, to be very helpful. Most importantly, don't look at the keyboard. to do that you have to remove your hands. Instead, look at your guide, and make adjustments as needed. At least that's what worked for me. Yes typing will be real slow at first. If some word gives you issues, practice it for a while. I remember practicing the word "around". Oh, and you will soon discover, that certain words like use the Dvoark letter duplets like"the" can fly off your fingers real fast. (letters combinations which role from the outside in, like th, ch, ou, oi, there really is a method to the layout) Best of luck with or without software. Fred
