I would /like/ to have arranged the keys in
vertical columns - in doubly-curved key bowls.

However, the huge, chunky microswitches imposed
/severe/ constraints on how they could be tesselated
together - and a staggered layout was the best I
could manage.

The whole point of the exercise was to use those
microswitches - they are the best key switches I've
ever seen - and everything else was secondary.
