I moved backspace to the left-control position. I use sticky keys, which allows me to make do with just one shift key. And, since it is on the home row, it is quite convenient. I didn't think that backspace deserved to be a home row key. Even though it is fairly common, it is used for either mistakes or for editing. A good typist should reduce his mistakes. And when editing, the backspace key is not used interspersed with other keys (it is used in repeated sequences), and thus does not deserve to be on the home row. I then set Alt-Gr to be where the enter key is by default. This makes it very easy for me to type characters with diacriticals (which I place on the Alt-Gr positions).
