   I've downloaded, and find it supports the STK500 as well, so I can
   try both uisp and avrdude, once I lay my hands on a programmer. There
   were some STK500 vendors on Atmel's site. I'll start looking there.

   I'd seriously consider the pavr programmer, but Mike Panetta's
   posting in the May archive leads me to believe that I can prototype
   some ADC handling code (say with the ATmega8) on the STK500, instead
   of chasing millivolts of noise on a hand knitted lash-up with ground
   impedance and other challenges.
