RE: CANLIST Audience

This is still my go to list for all things CAN related.  I've found that
questions on the LinkedIn site generally result in answers along the line of
"We make a product that can do that for you".  LinkedIn seems to primarily
be a lurking ground for sales people.  Not only the CAN list though.  A lot
of other LinkedIn lists are more like the marketing sites.

A big THANK YOU to Andreas and his silent employer (Vector) for hosting the
CAN list for so many years.  
A bit of History.
The oldest posting I have on one of my PCs is from the UseGroup
Comp.Arch.Embedded on 01JUN95 titled "CAN"

"Anybody using CAN network in embedded systems? Would like 
to hear about your experiences with it, especially 
with COP, 68hc11, 68hc05, 8051. 
Ian Garmaise

Responding to his request were: Myself, Olaf Pfeiffer, Edwin Armstrong,
Steven Pelc, Ken Tindell (original host of this list), Jan Martens
comp.realtime also had postings on CAN and the same people helped out there.
It was the multiple groups along with the ability to support a mailing list
at Upsala University that allowed Ken to start the "Dedicated only to CAN"
email list.    Over the years there have been attempts to focus it to one or
another single protocol but fortunately it's stayed as a general CAN list.
