Just a quick follow-up to let everybody know that my trigger finger was a little bit too itchy in this case. As the original message was filed automatically in a folder reserved for CANLIST, I managed to look over the fact that it was addressed directly to me rather than distributed via the list.

 

So: my apologies for the mixup and overzealous finger pointing, in my defense: it was Monday morning ;-)

Dear Igor,

 

This list has been one of the few precious CAN-based resources on the internet that has been just about the people working with CAN and their knowledge. I’m speaking for myself when I ask you to please refrain from polluting it with commercial posts.

 

A lot of the big name companies in CAN are represented on this list via their employees, yet none of them are posting marketing/commercial messages, other than in the rare case that a particular product they are offering answers a particular question posed on this list. I would encourage you to follow the same path. Otherwise, we risk ending up with a list of marketing people sending posts to each other while the techies have left.
