The recording resolution is typically 50 micro seconds, (although I am 
not sure how many drivers report that, or something sensible at all) so 
you may try (for testing) to hardcode that number.

I suggest that you use IrScrutinizer (in a recent version) to verify the 
sanity of the /dev/lirc0 data. For this, open /dev/lirc as receiving 
device and shoot a *well known* IR signal, and verify that it is sensible.
