About IR Receivers and security

After reading some documents over Internet, it seems pretty clear the answer of what I wanted to ask you, but anyway if you would be

so kind to answer me this, I would be very thankful . It's not really a question closely related to LIRC directly, it's more about

the default config situation of an IR loaded module (just that).


I have just done the set up of my office's Macbook with Gentoo . I have seen it has IR receiver. I have seen the way to

disable it (because I don't use it) through sysfs with an echo to an unbind file. Can perhaps be another better way of disabling

it?. By the way,  just one more question... I don't really need to use IR receiver and have almost not worried on disabling it

until now. Can it had suppossed some kind of security issue?. The fact of having it with the kernel 4.12.12 driver loaded, but

with nothing else configured for this device (IR Receiver)?. It's registered as :

Just wanted to know... or be sure there's no need of reinstalling the laptop due to having this kernel driver loaded (for security reasons).... and that

to have been able to cause any kind of security risk... it's paranoid, I know :) but security is my paranoia   ;)
