Just as you may cross compile the Lirc programs. My point is valid. It's inconvenient and (imo) unreasonable to suggest a person should have to use a second system just to create a remote config. Aside of that, they may not even have a second/desktop system to use. If a tool can't accommodate a perfectly capable system, the tool is the problem, not the system. Also, it makes no sense to make a gui app the standard when there are plenty of use-cases where a desktop is unwanted or unnecessary, and where an existing command line tool has worked for years. I see no reason irrecord and IrScrutinizer can't co-exist, especially when IrScrutinizer is not a drop-in replacement for the reasons above. I know a lot of people who wouldn't bother with IrScrutinizer because for them it would be too much of a hassle. > Having said that, suggestions for improvements are always welcome. I have no clue how it's designed though so I don't know if that's even possible. I'll have to check which receivers I have - I do have a few different ones (TSOP34856, TSOP38436, TSMP58000 for sure). I'll have to look into the 38438 and 34438. I recall an oddity though. The remote I use is supposedly 56kHz, but it works perfect with my homebrew serial ir which is 38kHz. It also works with a 56kHz ir receiver I have. So is the remote 56kHz or 38kHz?
