Hi Good luck with this Andre I asked the same question months ago and never got an answer. But if you search on other lists you will find the recommended action is to temporary add the repo for 16.04 and force the reload of the previous version of lirc , then put a apt hold on lirc so it does not get upgraded back to the broken version. Its on the ubuntu forums, and quite a few others as well, unfortunately a well known problem.
