youtuber Phils Lab seems quite professional. KiCad was always a chore until the more recent releases included features like push and shove routing where it became fun. Library management as mentioned was/is still a pain However, i did manage to create a new footprint, imported a related 3D model I created in freecad, used the 3D pcb view (which i think is cool) and quickly discovered I had two components sharing the same space. justin On Wed, 12 Feb. 2025, 22:04 RussellMc, <[email protected]> wrote: > I'm starting to learn KiCad > It will probably more than meet my increasingly modest needs. > I have reasonably good past experience with a few different packages but > what I have is now dated and for me too expensive to be worth updating. > > I found a wide range of KiCad tutorials and learning guides. > > This video has proved useful as he proceeds at a rate that I can (almost > just) keep up with and seems to be going to cover a very useful subset of > features. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Be7XOMmPQE > > I'd be interested in any suggestions re learning aids. > KiCAD seems learnable enough (although finding all the nooks and crannies > is, as often the case, somewhat obscure at first). > What I've found will be adequate but there may be some gems I've missed. > > > Russell > > > __________________________ > Skimmed: > > Digikey material > https://www.digikey.com/en/resources/design-tools/kicad > > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsMbg1kAv58 > > https://groups.io/g/kicad-users/editsub > > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgmsvopC9Qk > > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Be7XOMmPQE > > https://www.capterra.com/p/10006638/KiCad-EDA/reviews/ > -- > http://www.piclist.com/techref/piclist PIC/SX FAQ & list archive > View/change your membership options at > https://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist >
