I've found the free ChatGPT and MS copilot extremely helpful in coding and answering questions about coding that I would have had to spend a lot of time searching for using Google. I'm currently using an ESP8266 to create a device. The code consists of 14 files so far that each have between 100 to 400 lines of code and that doesn't include the html, javascript and css for the user interfaces. I know only enough coding to be dangerous and occasionally to ask the right question. I'm about 60% done. I've found the AI to be like a colleague which can answer my stupid questions and provide suggestions for doing things in an alternate manner. It's not all roses. It makes mistakes often and whatever code it gives you, needs to be checked carefully line by line. Once it goes off the rails, it's difficult to get it back. It does spit out a lot of code quickly and is much faster and more accurately than me writing from scratch.
