Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) will react with copper to leave a black residue, H2S can be produced by adding an acid to iron sulphide. In the past I've had both methylene blue and malachite green stain plastic aquarium tubing and silicone adhesive. I don't know how these would affect epoxy. Regards Sergio Masci
