Also BCC to Brooke as of *possible *interest. His products from his amplifier days seem to be EXTREMELY well spoken of, as are his LM317 versions - which were a small run. 2. I did some searching. YES it is the same man. YES he went off into free energy along the way and what I saw at a quick look around would lead one to think he was deluded or a scammer. Things happen to many people with age, as no doubt you know. (Hey - I'm 74 - I know :-) ). He died a while ago. 3. See 1. There is a link trail from my original link to someone else's LM317 amplifier that says similar things to the original claims. He said 2 Hz - 100 kHz flat on simulation and over 30 kHz on test at fill power (a few watts). THD in the 0.111% range at 1 kHz. MAY all be rubbish, but it tends to not seem so. ____________________________ Brooke: Wandering through your website I found the SDU-5/E emergency strobe page. Anything that does interesting things on small batteries is of interest at present due to my recent playings. I'm about to send 4 trial lights to Kenya for use in refugee camp toilets. They operate at about 500 microwatt (150 uA into the LED). 5 years all night use with 3 x AA or 1 x D (different circuits). "Somewhat less" visible than the strobes :-). Still amazingly useful.
