I guess the real question that I should have asked is probably more about
"what is the procedure for lightning photography" rather than about the
technical feasibility.

Rereading your posts, it almost sounded as if you wanted to frantically run
around in the middle of a storm, setting up and tearing down equipment
minutes before lightning strikes the very spot you were standing, rather
than setting up the equipment before the storm?

If that is the case, then, my idea was a bad one.
