Happy New Year!

I joined PIClist in 2005. I started my PIC journey in 1999 when I was
tasked to find the replacement for NEC 17k 4 bit MCU for an industrial
automation I/O project. I chose to use PIC16C72A and not the AVR family.
Luckily I did the right choice as the first gen 90S family AVR got EOLed
pretty soon.

Using PICKit 1 and PICKit 2 under Linux and Windows using alternative
command line tools got me started with open source projects like libusb and
libusb-win32. I have been part of the admin team of these two projects for
a long time.

Interestingly now I am also part of the avrdude admin team as well.
