Well I see your point. But the expansion flash area on a Tini 390 module is not needed by the OS, this is still in CE0* space though. With reference to the memory map: http://www.systronix.com/tinistik/memory_map.html My guess is that CE0*, CE1* and CE2* are all protected, which would mean from 0x600000 upwards is OK. Try reading there and see what happens.
