Can't get to loader

Hiya,

I'm trying to set up a 390 based TINI (actually a tstik.72.nb) which has
TINI OS 1.12p9 on it. From reading around, it seems the correct
procedure is to install 1.02g on it and then to install 1.13.

However my first hurdle is that I can't get the loader to come up.
Whenever I hit Reset in JavaKit it reboots the tini but it does not stop
at the loader prompt as the docs suggest but carries on and loads Slush.

How do I get to the loader prompt so I can upgrade 1.12p9?

[Another question might be - is there an SDK that is compatible with
1.12p9 - I get unexpected NullPointerExceptions when using 1.12
including when trying LoaderLoader]
